On my way to Echo Valley, I was amazed to see a cemetery on top of the hill behind the St. Mary’s Church. It was my first trip and Sagada quickly proved that she has a lot of surprises for the first-time visitor.
And right beside it, a few steps down, was the Globe mobile antenna. No wonder I had a full bar on my phone’s signal (Smart also has a strong signal in Sagada, don’t worry). But they lower or turn it off at night so there’s no texting and calling in the evening.
I guess silence and peacefulness are very sacred in Sagada. There’s not much to do at night but to sleep or chat with your roommates.
